NextNet and its Operator Partners to Speak at WCA '04 Technical Expo on NLOS Broadband Wireless Deployments and Expansion Plans
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - January 15, 2004 -- NextNet Wireless, the industry's most widely deployed provider of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) broadband wireless access systems, announced today that NextNet and several of its operator partners have been invited to speak at the Wireless Communications Association's 10th Annual Technical Symposium and Business Expo, January 20-23 in San Jose, CA (www.wcai.com). As part of the opening day program, NextNet President and CEO Guy Kelnhofer will lead an operator panel discussion entitled, "MMDS: New Beginnings, Visions, Challenges and Successes." NextNet operator partner Plateau Telecommunications, will discuss its commercial launch of NLOS broadband wireless services in underserved markets in New Mexico. Iowa telecommunications provider Evertek, Inc., will discuss its unique business model relating to NLOS deployments in several rural Iowa locations, as well as expansion plans for 8 new NLOS markets
in the coming year. NEOTEC, a consortium of Brazil's largest MMDS operators, will discuss its selection of NextNet's OFDM-based Expedienc™ system as its technology of choice for nationwide deployment in Brazil.
In separate presentations, NextNet partner MVS Comunicaciones will deliver a progress report on the world's largest NLOS plug-and-play deployment in Mexico City and Mexicali, including expansion plans for 13 new cities in 2004. IMX (Next Mobile) will speak on major international NLOS deployment plans for the Philippines, including plans for product launch in Manila early this year.
