WiMAX World Conference and Exposition 2005

Best of WiMAX World Award Winners Announced
America's Network magazine recognizes promising products supporting the upcoming WiMAX standard

Santa Ana, Calif.- November 3, 2005 -- America's Network, a premiere telecommunications publication for nearly 100 years, recognized three products at WiMAX World Conference and Expo 2005 in Boston, MA, that it calls "the most inspiring products available for the WiMAX platform. Exhibitors submitted product nominations and the entries were judged based on ability to exploit the exciting advantages that WiMAX technology offers, distinctiveness, potential impact and usefulness. The editors of America's Network along with a panel of distinguished judges-Joan Engebretson, Senior Correspondent, America's Network; Peter Fuhr, Ph.D., CTO, Apprion; and Hesh Kagan, president, WINA (Wireless Industrial Networking Alliance) and Director of New Ventures, Invensys Process Systems-reviewed the entries, weighed relative merits, and scrutinized candidate products to determine the winners.

"The Best of WiMAX World Awards recognize products we feel take best advantage of the unique and powerful characteristics of WiMAX," said Al Senia, Editor of America's Network magazine.

"WiMAX is going to be huge and important," said Dr. Peter Fuhr. "I foresee that this wide-bandwidth, big-footprint system will be spun up by numerous organizations that are trying to stomp out the rampant Wi-Fi-ing of the nation."

GRAND PRIZE WINNER:
Broadband Mobile Data Solution by NextNet Wireless, Inc. NextNet's broadband wireless mobile data solution provides reliable high-speed mobile data, voice and video streaming over licensed frequencies for public safety, emergency services and transportation applications.

"NextNet's BMDS takes excellent advantage of WiMAX, and in doing so elevates the safety of both communities and the police forces that serve them," said Barbara Goode, editorial director. Fuhr added, "The hooks into public safety networks for emergency dispatch are very snazzy."

RUNNERS UP:
PCMCIA card by Navini Networks
This PC card will plug into a laptop and provide complete portability of broadband wireless access. "A PC card for WiMAX is quite exciting," said Joan Engebretson. "Although Navini will eventually have competition, it won't likely come for a year or so." Hesh Kagan noted, "This simple PCMCIA card will greatly accelerate the use of WiMAX technology." And Fuhr stated, "I just can't get past the inherent ease of use."

RoamBOSS Metro by Airpath Wireless, Inc.
RoamBOSS Metro is a hosted, metro-scale Broadband Operational Support System (OSS) with carrier-class roaming, wholesaling and clearinghouse capabilities. "RoamBOSS's clearinghouse capability is especially interesting," said Engebretson.

"We're getting requests from all over the world for more information about this award," said Barbara J. Heine, NextNet Wireless, Inc. "Our sales team is getting numerous requests and of course, our parent company, Clearwire, is very pleased."
