NEW CEO TO BUILD ON NEXTNET MOMENTUM

CHIEF EXECUTIVE LEVERAGES DYNAMIC GROWTH BACKGROUND TO DRIVE EXPEDIENCE™ NLOS BROADBAND WIRELESS ROLLOUTS

Minneapolis, MN – December 3, 2001 — NextNet Wireless, developer of the industry’s first non line-of-sight (NLOS) broadband wireless access system, with indoor, plug-and-play subscriber equipment, announced today that Guy J. Kelnhofer III has joined the NextNet management team as its new president and chief executive officer. The appointment of Kelnhofer follows a highly successful twelve-month period for NextNet, in which the company captured the first-to-market broadband wireless advantage, with its commercial-ready Expedience™ NLOS platform.

Don Green, NextNet board member, and former chairman of Advanced Fibre Communications, (Nasdaq: AFCI) stated, "Guy is a 15-year wireless communications equipment veteran with demonstrated success in expanding International markets for wireless data systems and services. His market knowledge and strategic insights will help drive mass market rollouts of NextNet’s Expedience broadband wireless system."

Prior to joining NextNet, Kelnhofer served as chief operating officer at Dataradio COR, a designer and manufacturer of wireless communications products for the commercial, defense, public safety, and utility markets. Prior to joining Dataradio, Kelnhofer served as general manager, director of international sales, and director of international sourcing at E.F. Johnson Company, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of wireless voice and data solutions. Earlier, Kelnhofer served as chief executive officer of Medial and Electronic Technology Exporters, Inc., facilitating high tech equipment and technology transfers between the US and Asia, China, Hong Kong and Japan.
